I am going to be doing a big piece of work around engaging people with dementia. It is a subject close to my heart as my Grampa had alzheimers. It got me thinking about the brain and how it works, or doesn't as the case may be, so I decided to try my hand at drawing a stylised brain.
I love all things arty, am interested in politics and am passionate about giving those that are not usually heard a voice. This is the place I come to reflect on my experiences in a vague attempt to make sense of it all!

Blind Contour Drawing - is a technique used to help develop communication between the hand and the eye. Contour means that you draw the outline of the item and doing it 'blind' means that you don't look at what you are drawing.I love it cause I think it captures the essence of what your drawing without you having to replicate it exactly.
Collage - is a term used to describe both the technique and final piece of art in which pieces of paper, photographs, fabric and other ephemera are arranged and stuck to a supporting surface.
